Zane Phillips is taking on a more serious role in Something Still, a new short film that centers on the collapse of a relationship shaped by heartbreak, shifting boundaries and a threesome that sets the story in motion.

The 19-minute LGBTQ+ drama stars Phillips alongside John Brodsky. Phillips plays a man who returns to the apartment he once shared with his ex-boyfriend, and the pair are forced to confront the memories and unresolved tension that led to their split.

One of the film’s most discussed moments is a “casual threesome” that becomes the catalyst for the breakup. What begins as a hookup develops into an emotional affair, pushing the exes to reckon with what their relationship has become and what it might still be.

Something Still premiered on the 2026 film festival circuit, with screenings at Inside Out Toronto and NFMLA. A digital distribution deal has not yet been announced.

Phillips has recently appeared as himself on television programs including Loot, RuPaul's Drag Race and The Comeback.
